One Year Anniversary Party!
Our first anniversary party came a bit late. In April we celebrated 16 months since the opening of Silas Hill! We gathered with current residents, former residents, volunteers and friends of Silas Hill for good food and an opportunity to catch up with one another.
The Numbers
Since January 2016, Silas Hill has provided shelter for 60 residents from 22 different countries. Currently we are home to 13 residents from Nigeria, Eritrea, Sudan, Cameroon and Ethiopia, including a 6-year-old, a 3-year-old, a 1-year old, and a 2-month old – our first baby to be born to a resident living at the house!
Highlights and Thanks
April 2017
Our first baby was born to a Silas Hill family, and we had our first ever Nigerian baby-naming ceremony!
June 2017
We celebrated another baby at the home’s first birthday!
Thank you to all the volunteers who came and helped us clean Silas Hill on June 24.
We raised money at our own table at the Peoples Community Yardsale.

The Richmond Hill Life Group
This wonderful group visits Silas Hill every month, sharing dinner, prayer and hope. They have also taken residents bowling, to barbecues and other special events. What a blessing they have been!
We want to say a special thank you to all of the Life Groups from The Peoples Church who have visited Silas Hill over the past year and a half. They have brought light and encouragement to our home.
